The Choice is Yours

"Being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6 (KJ).

After all the healing that God has brought me through, you would think by now I would recognize the tactics of the enemy, but I am blindsided sometimes. Even when you have come to a place of healing and wholeness, the enemy is there to make you doubt that progress or healing has ever taken place.

Ephesians 6:10-13 says: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”

You need to be watching out for the enemy’s arrows of discouragement, feelings of inadequacy, depression, doubt, and any areas where you are weak.

Recently, I achieved a huge weight loss. I got lax and stopped working quite so hard and five pounds came back in what seemed like overnight. The enemy came in to convince me that I wasn’t really healed in that area and I would never achieve true victory. Before I knew it, I had become discouraged and wondered why I should even keep trying so hard. As I saw the weight going up on the scale, my husband told me he thought I unintentionally and subconsciously shoot myself in the foot so I won’t succeed. Wow! There is probably a lot of truth to that statement. The bottom line is, am I going to let the enemy claim ground back after I have come so far?

We all come to different crossroads on our path to healing. When you arrive at a detour or obstacle, which road will you take? Will you take the more familiar one that looks as if it might be easier for you, or will you choose to be stretched and continue on the difficult road to complete healing?

I choose to keep pressing on and go in the direction that God is leading me. I choose the path to blessing and healing. I choose to stand. The choice is in your hands. What will you choose?

God recently reminded me that when you are about to achieve victory or are on the brink of a blessing, the enemy works extra hard to draw you back to where you used to be. Stay on guard and don’t let the enemy, Satan, steal what God has already accomplished in you.
